July 4th 2009

Are they as good as they look? Oh yeah baby! We had scones galore on our 4th o' July Breakfast with the Fairbourn's and the Whipple's. What a bunch of fun families they are!

Now back to the food....we had Davids gourmet scrambled eggs with basil and cheese, yummy thick bacon, watermelon and get this pistachio salad. There is a story there, pistachio salad was always served at my parents fourth of July Breakfast.

A family friend Barbara Hunt always brought it to all of our parties, breakfast-lunch-dinner no matter what! So my sweet friend Julia brought it to our first annual 4th of July breakfast, and it was just like when I was little. Yum!

Back to the scones oh yeah I know you want to hear more about those! There were cinnascones with cream cheese frosting, or you could have honey butter or homemade strawberry jam.

We were all very full and had a fun time visiting before we went to the Layton Parade, where I ended up embarrassing Shayleigh by yelling for all of her friends in the Parade. Oh and it could have been the dancing I was doing as well.... if there is music I must dance! The weather was perfectly overcast and not too hot, just a little humid! So fun! Thanks to the Whipple's and the Fairbourn's for helping us make this a memorable 4th!

These are some of the scones---oh they just melted in your mouth!

The arrival of the Whipple's and some friends of theirs who were visiting.

Here Julia is getting what she called some sugar from Bright. He loves her like we all do! You just can't help it, she is just that lovable! mmmwah! Love ya girl!

This is a picture of Howdy (Julia's Hubby) breakfast. He really loaded up his scone with butter, strawberry jam and cream cheese frosting. Can you say dessert?!

Amy, me and Mi Madre chatting away while the Whipple's eat breakfast! Amy always looks cute in pictures, her laugh will make the worst day a lot brighter! Then Carly(Julia's daughter) in the left hand corner, she was so tired from being out too late the night before. Thanks to Amy for persistently texting Jules to get her and her family here for breakfast.

After the Parade we came home to watch Two towers from the Lord of the Ring trilogy until we went to David's parents house for a BBQ.

This is Xander in the toy closet at Grandpa and Grandmas--oh and Bright in the background looking through the toys.

Bright playing Elefun. He has his face all squished up and frustrated because he is having some struggles catching the butterflies

Looks like he gave up on the Butterflies and captured his Dad while we were playing a game called 5 things.

Bright wanted to try this on. I promise we didn't push him into it. He looks happy so you know he wasn't being forced!

I think that all of mom and dad's grandkids have ended up in that dress at one point or another. It must be the color or the sparkles!
