Peaches-Presidents-Problem Teacher

It seems like it should be time for a new post. Last week was peach week. David's fantastic parents brought over a bushel of peaches. I was so excited!! I love free fruit! I had just made a fresh peach pie and the family loved it, so I decided to use some of the peaches to make Pie filling. We do have our big Thanksgiving pie party coming up so that will be nice to have that ready for that. Ohh how I love pie! The Hubs is the jam maker in our house so he took the rest of the peaches and made a delicious jam. ( I know he is unbelievable!)

Shayleigh was voted in by her classmates as President for her choir. She was really flattered that she was chosen. She is so funny, she now says the job isn't as glamorous and she once thought. Her job consists of three hole punching music, repairing music, leading the class (she likes this one the best) and basically being at her teachers beck and call. One funny thing that has come out of this is that she has now realized her teacher does not know her name. She calls her President, Smiley, Hey you, and Shayla, which turns out to be another girl in class.

The girls are both doing really well in school. It has only been about a month, but both of them are keeping their grades up to a A- average. I think Josie is doing so much better than she even thought she could, and I think she really loves it! She has made a lot of new friends, and she has discovered that she loves her French class.

Xander's first few weeks of school were not fun and very emotionally trying for our family. We were placed in a class with a teacher we did not want. Our school would not let us out of this class until we gave it a chance. So we went and observed with not too much positive coming out of that. To make a long and drawn out situation short, it took us two weeks to get him transferred and a official type letter for the district. He now has Miss Paul and she already loves him and he seems really happy and thriving.

Mhhmmm. Peach pie...can't wait to try some. We need to catch-up. We ARE family. Thank heavens for blogs allowing us to have a clue about what's going on. To bad we don't live in a day and age where there are phones and automobiles to make contact with one another...oh yeah..we do...
