School pics

Okay I rarely rant on here, but lets try it for fun. The rant today is brought to you by Bell photography. Yesterday my kids from elementary school, of which I have 2 brought home their school picture packages. The packages range from $$12 to $26 dollars, and the lower ones aren't anything I am interested in, because they don't even throw an 8x10 in until the $19 dollar range. All I want is an 8x10 and 2 5x7's, unfortunately the package close to that is $24. You Math maticians out there can figure that for 2 kids that is $48. Does that seem steep to anyone else or is it just that I have too many kids in school. Two weeks ago Shayleigh's was a cool $28, it made me sick to write the check. I don't think this is because I don't think school pics are important, I do.


But these people have the market cornered, they do a whole bunch of schools in fact I think that is all they do! So give us a good price, after all there is only a 50/50 chance were gonna get a good pic anyway. They only take one shot and you have got to hope to shout that your kid isn't looking at a friend or isn't nervous or uncomfortable, or you could end up with a shot and face you don't really recognize. TRUST me I have pics like that, where their eyes are looking the wrong direction or their hair is hanging weird, or they just look constipated. I have all these, and sadly retakes are not an option because your kid likes the pic for some strange reason.


Okay, solution to this problem..... I'm finding a coupon online and going there this weekend. Your saying to yourself what's the hurry? Well as I'm sure you know I have had this same rant about this time every year and one year I put my foot down and told Shay I would get her picture taken somewhere else for cheaper, but I never did and she has never forgotten that one year having her same pic up for 2 years. Besides that follow through is key for parenting right? Thanks for listening and good day to ya'll!
