A Time for Joy

This is one of my joys, today Bright did a performance of his sword skills with sound effects. I watched him for at least a full 10 minutes. He is a blessing to me and he brings such joy and love to my heart. If I remember what is important, the trials and uncertainty in my life seems so small. And for that reason I am glad that I was blessed with a family who taught me the gospel. I am so grateful that I am able to teach my children those principles that give me joy and help me to find light at the end of a tunnel, in those times when I need one.

I don't often show this side of me, but I thought since I am using this as a family journal that it would appropriate to share.

This time of year it is ward conference time, so I am having a wonderful time visiting each ward in our Stake and hearing our Stake President every week. I am amazed that each week he depends on the spirit to tell him what he needs to say to each ward. What a faithful man.

He has asked us to do a Sharing Time in each ward and since as a Stake we are working on being missionaries to our neighbors. We are teaching the children that they can be missionaries now and even the most simple acts of kindness and friendship is being a missionary. I am loving the time I am spending in each ward singing songs, I love that you can teach gospel principles through song and help plant that seed for their testimonies to grow. I am very grateful for the Sisters I serve with, each with their own qualities that I love and hope to emulate some day.
I am grateful for my Husband, he is a hard working, loving, caring and a Rock for me when I need one. My children are wonderful and helpful and not perfect, but they are mine and I love them more than I could ever show or express. I thank my Heavenly Father every day for them, what a privilege it is to be their Mother. With all my faults they forgive me when I make a mistake and love me unconditionally. What examples they are to me!

I love my life, I love being a Wife and Mother of this Family.

I'm going to have to videotape Bright with the sword scene. Uncle Lyle videotaped me dancing when I was twelve and the only word for it would be 'choice'. Uncle Lyle showed it to Wayne right after we got married. I guess I can thank him for doing it after and not before! Although Wayne seemed to enjoy it at my expense!

As for the rest of the post...we love you Carrie!
