I started a tradition about 5 yrs ago, that I would make a special dinner for my family on Valentines. Of course I should give credit where credit is due, I actually stole the idea from a good friend of mine Jen Ahlstrom. I was talking to her about how Valentines was another one of those pressure Holidays, and when you go out with your loved one it is just crazy busy and not so fun. I like the idea because it involved my kids (whom I also love on Valentines) and that it didn't effect my budget, because I just use my regular menu and spend may $4-5 dollars on table decorations. This year our menu was Swedish meatballs, baked sweet potato fries and steamed broccoli. For dessert I did a Cinnamon pecan braid. It was a delicious dinner and my kids love the table decor and the mini box of chocolates I give them.

YUUMMM looks yummy. Your table looks very festive. Love the braid. Very cool.
AHEM... I see no recipe for this cinnamon pecan braid. That looks fabulous!!!! And Chris loves anything pecan so you could help me score some points. LOL! ;) Very cool idea about the dinner.
We do that too! My Mom has always Valentine's Day special. To this day we still get together and have a nice dinner and she gives us each a small gift. Fun fun!
I'm a bit behind on my blog reading, but for the record, I'm sorry Bright was sick on his birthday (no fun), and your Valentine's tradition looks incredibly delightful and yummy!
