For those of you who don't know, I have been in my school's Mock Trial team this year. Well, we only had two trials and were not allowed to go on to the next round, but it was fun anyway!

Here's two of the four guys that were on our team. haha!
Our first trial was really scary and most of us didn't know what the heck we were doing so that was a little terrifying, but we went into the courthouse and did our best! In mock trial, there are 3 witnesses ( sort of like actors) and 3 or 4 attorneys. I happened to be one of the attorneys. We did our best, but in the end all 3 judges ruled against us. Ouch, I know. We were all pretty bitter and blamed the judges and the other team, which is usual and makes us feel a heck of a lot better.
A week later we went to our second and last trial. This time I was pretty excited because I had some really good questions and I was ready to make them cry. Well 3 hours later we lose again, but this time, we had on judge rule with us. But in overall points we lost. On the bright side, all three judges named me the best attorney on my team! Yeah,I was near tears. I was so happy and I didn't even care that we had lost because I had no bad judge to blame it on because they were great judges! I was really happy.
A week later we had our mock trial breakfast at Granny Annies. And for some reason, all of us were really hyper! I know! And in the morning too! My friend Shayla, kept trying to get food on my friend Parker. Before we left she showed him some pictures on her phone and then while he was distracted, she put honey butter on his nose! She said " I buttered him up with my pictures!" Yeah she is really crazy. I had alot of fun, and can't wait til next year!
Here we are! Except for me, of course, I am behind the camera.
This is a nice picture during breakfast, it was funny though, almost 3/4 of our team consisted of girls. But the guys still did a good job!

I went to the second trial and my unbiased opinion (yeah right) was that Shayleigh was the best lawyer there.
It was very interesting in that it obviously teaches the kids how to form an argument and how to weaken your opponents argument.
I can tell Shay learned alot and my biased opinion is she is absolutely awesome.
Sounds like fun, Shay! Keep posting all of your fun events for dear old Auntie (Kristin, not me! I choose to be the young, hip Aunt) to live vicariously through.
