Just a note to remind all of you not in the state or unable to attend for whatever reason or injury.
Xander David Larsen is getting baptized today by me, his dad at 5:30 pm (I think, its whenever Carrie tells me to be there)
I am so excited to see him take this step and to share this moment with him. He remains one of the coolest kids I know and always has a smile on his face. I can't believe he's 8 years old at this point but that is the way of life.
As Carrie and I talked about Xander we realized many cool things. Xander doesn't lie to us really, not when questioned directly. You know how sometimes people will hedge their bets, 'did you clean your room', 'yes' (meaning I picked up some stuff and that should be enough!). Xander almost always answers correctly. He hasn't always been this way but over the last year has grown into it in such a way that we didn't even notice it was happening. Now we just need to work on getting him to do the right thing so his honest answers are always good as well.
He dealt with a bully this year in school. Now I am sure he wasn't perfect in the relationship. Carrie and I only found out after he had dealt with the principal about it (his teacher wasn't even there, she had an appointment and told him later how proud she was for how he handled it) and it was mostly solved. He is very self sufficient.
We just couldn't be prouder, I think we need to tell him more and will do that this weekend. But be proud of this awesome son/brother/nephew/cousin/grandson. He is growing to a wonderful young man.
