It's time to update, I know!
We are about a month into Summer and it sure has flown by, as usual! We started off the summer with music camp, and that will go until almost the end of July with 4 performances of "The Wickedly Wonderful land of OZ" and" Aladdin". The Oz one is a musical revue and the other is a spoof. The girls have done this the last few years and have really loved it! What can I say the performance bug must come from their Dad.
Last weekend was our wards Youth Conference and the theme was "Finding the Savior." It was a two day conference. The first day they went out to Antelope Island and learned and experienced the many miracles of Jesus Christ. And that evening was spent eating BBQ and water games at the Park. Many of the kids were sunburned, bug bitten and even a few had sun stroke. It was a very hot day! I was asked to head the food for this and I think it turned out well. How can you go wrong with Sloppy Joe's, potato salad, fresh fruit and of course Pace Bars.
The next day was spent first with a Service project at the Ogden Temple working the flower beds. After a quick break then we met at the church for a beautiful Music presentation of Finding the Savior through music. David was in charge of the dinner for this night and he wanted it to be a really nice sit down dinner since the Youth would be in Sunday dress. He made roast, BBQ chicken, Roasted corn, mashed potatoes, and spinach salad. It was delicious and I was a very obedient/ handy chef assistant. That evening went beautifully with a wonderful presentation of the saviors life that spurred a very spiritual testimony meeting. Experiences and times like this are priceless and with both of our oldest involved, it is a blessing to see them learn and grow spiritually. We are truly Blessed!
